for the largest weekend celebration for the arts in the history of the Commonwealth. Presented by TowneBank and hosted by Governor Terry McAuliffe and First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe, the weekend will also be the private Grand Opening of the most anticipated hotel opening in Coastal Virginia, The Hilton Norfolk THE MAIN. This private event offers patrons of the arts the opportunity to be the first guests at the hotel to enjoy its luxurious accommodations and three world-class restaurants, and to experience the many entertainment venues and fabulous hospitality offered at THE MAIN in support of our regional arts community.

Produced by the Virginia Arts Festival and organized by Co-Chairpersons Susan Hirschbiel and Paul Fraim, THE MAIN EVENT will feature an extravaganza of the finest visual and performing arts from the region. Throughout the weekend, guests will experience the brilliance of

A Big Band Dance Party featuring band leader Roy Muth will be the highlight of Friday evening, and a live performance by the Virginia Symphony and a major Broadway superstar will entertain on Saturday evening.

$1 Million For The Arts

Via a partnership with the Business Consortium for Arts Support, 100% of the gross proceeds will benefit the arts organizations of Hampton Roads. The ownership of THE MAIN has agreed to underwrite the cost of all food & beverage, hotel rooms and labor for the entire weekend so we can raise $1 million for the regional arts organizations.

We are actively recruiting prominent members of the arts community to join Susan Hirschbiel and Paul Fraim on the weekend's organizing committee and assist with the design, development and execution of this momentous event. We are also hoping to sell 260 weekend-guestroom packages to the arts community's most ardent supporters.
