Went for Sunday brunch, vee took great care of us! Drove over from Newport News!

Nice hotel, lots of dining options

I loved the hotel and I felt very welcomed the moment I entered. Once I saw the art and the sculptures, I felt as if I had entered an art museum. And I felt very compelled to take pictures and study the art. The decor of the hotel was very picturesque which the location added to this quality. Although, the bed was much firmer than what I prefer, the pillows were very soft. And not to mention the cleanliness of the room was great, and I loved the scent of fresh clean linen that greeted me when I entered the room. I will definitely put this hotel on my list of places to visit again.

During our recent family trip, we had the pleasure of staying at Hilton Norfolk The Main and overall, it was a positive experience with a few minor drawbacks. We opted for a partial river view room, which provided ample space for our family of four. The room size was great, allowing us to move around comfortably without feeling cramped. However, we found that the actual river view was just average and didn't justify the additional cost. Next time, we'll opt for a regular room instead. The hotel itself was delightful, adorned with an impressive collection of artwork that appealed to the entire family. It added a touch of sophistication to the ambiance. The cleanliness of the pool and gym facilities was commendable, and we felt at ease utilizing those spaces during our stay. Among the hotel's restaurants, Varia stood out as our favorite. The staff, from the host to the waitstaff, were incredibly friendly and kind, providing excellent service. The rooftop restaurant, Grain, had its ups and downs. While the views and drinks were enjoyable, it often became overcrowded, leading to subpar service. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Hilton Norfolk The Main, and we would like to extend a special thanks to one of their employees, Quincy. Quincy was exceptionally kind and provided us with valuable advice on the hotel and local attractions, enhancing our experience. We would recommend Hilton Norfolk The Main to other travelers, keeping in mind the considerations mentioned regarding the room selection and the potential for crowdedness at Grain.

My husband and I recently moved to this area. We wanted to go out so we decided on Grain for the view and because there are a lot of beer options. It was too hot to sit outside plus all of the tables didn't have umbrellas and there were no fans. We sat at the bar ordered drinks and the Nashville Hot Chicken Dip. I love visiting Nashville and we both love spice in our food. The dip was so hot that the only thing you could taste was heat. I don't remember ever eating bad food in Nashville. The bartender replaced it with the Spinach and Artichoke Dip which was better. My husband decided that he wanted to eat so we ordered Norfolk Cheese Steak for him and Fish and Chips for me. There was a little steak with lots of fries. There was a good portion of tasteless fish and lots of fries. After we decided that we would only visit Grain if someone invited us to a celebration we decided we needed to see the view before we left. One side had gliders, a few games and buildings. The other side had tables, a narrow view of the river and more buildings. The bartenders were super nice and attentive. Grain gets a 3 because of the bartenders. If I could give separate scores, the bartenders would get a 5 and the food would get a 1.
