Hilton Norfolk The Main Reviews

We had a two night stay in early September at the HIlton Main. Excellent location. We were able to walk to all our destinations (river tour, museum, battleship and nearby restaurants) and never had to access our car from the garage. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Great stay but the front desk didn’t know the Varia restaurant is closed on Sundays for dinner. My plans were impacted by this oversight. Otherwise, housekeeping is excellent. They are the gold standard for management to use for other departments.

Hotel is great overall. I was there for a company conference . I checked in at 7pm and would be out of the room from 8am until checkout for a $400 room, - only me - all I did was sleep a few hours. I needed until noon to checkout so I didn't have to leave my conference early. They denied it. The rooms are good enough and location is great but willingness to listen to my concern and give me an hour so I could finish my conference with a company that likely spend a LOT of money to host -- I give a 3

The bar at Saltine has a happy hour. I met a group of colleagues who were there for a big conference we held at the hotel. Happy hour must have just ended. I ordered whiskey and pointed to a bottle on the shelf. The bartender pulled the bottle down and showed it to me. He then poured me the hotel standard 1oz pour. When we got the bill we noticed that one ounce whiskey was $125! We complained to the manager. She explained that since I ordered it I have to pay for it. Buyer beware! Better ask for the price of their drinks before you order anything from their bar. Sneaky
