Excelkent service, good food

The check-in process was dreadful. For the price, I would expect to check in on time, but our room took hours to be "ready." Check-in was supposed to be at 4, we arrived early but was told they were cleaning, and it will not be ready until 4. Ok, fair. Our room was finally available closer to 6 pm. That was the only issue I had with this place. Other than that, the room was clean, nice bathrooms and a beautiful view. I'd stay here again.

Anyone who read my reviews knows I love a positive dining experience . I visite one of the main restaurants inside of the Hilton Downtown Norfolk. called The Grain. There was a group of about 20 of us without reservation from a family reunion. Luckily for us it was past lunch. We were able to find tables to accommodate us with no problems . The Grain is a very beautiful restaurant with a rooftop view. We choose to sit inside due to the heat. In no time at all our server came over named Janeen with a smile despite having to wait on such a large party, Three tables to be exact about 30 people. She gave us all individual attention, answering all our questions as well as making recommendations on meals. We never felt rushed. She was super pleasant and always came back with updates on our food. Our food came out hot and they even put other servers at our three tables to assist with drinks and asking if we needed anything. I got cheese steak, while other members in my party got smash cheeseburgers. All positive reviews on the food. Our only tiny hiccup came when one member of our party ordered a chicken sandwich. The chicken was a thigh and most chicken sandwiches are the breasts. It wasn't mentoned on the menu as a thigh. I asked to speak with the manager to see if we could get a resolution and out comes the GM Hannah. She was understanding apologetic and extremely accommodating all with a smile. I love a positive, dining experiences where I feel like a special guest at your place. I got that at The Grain. My entire dining experience could not have been better . 5 stars for the Grain, their staff and GM.

We're enjoying our stay here! The location is great, the room and bathroom are spacious and my favorite part is that there was always an ample supply of bath towels available in our bathroom. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

This hotel is located right at the water where the cruise ships come in. It is close to museums, restaurants and the cruise ship port. All are within a short walking distance. The hotel is a nice Hilton hotel. They have a rooftop bar and a restaurant in addition to a coffee shop. There are no free breakfasts. Hilton likes you to use the Hilton App to check-in and check-out as well as a keyless key. You will need to tap and go to have the elevator take you to your floor, to enter your room and to enter the ice and vending room on your floor. I assume if you are older you can go up to the check-in desk on the second floor using the escalator and get a tap and go key card. The app and the entire check-in and check-out process is very convenient and easy. So there should be no excuse for the front desk not to answer the phone but it happened...a few times calling them from and outside phone line before we arrived. Now the room and the price. The room prices are very high. Nothing special in the rooms. However, the clock next to the bed didn't work, there was a large light stain on the carpet that apparently was cleaned but not removed, and you could hear a mechanical noise such as from a compressor. This room was an upgrade to a suite from a standard room since it was available according to the Hilton App. I suggest not to upgrade. On the return of our trip we stayed in the standard Hilton room. There was low water pressure and you could hear other doors in the hall close. Again the price was high even for the standard room. By the way, there is a lot of road, bridge and tunnel construction going on in this part of Virginia. Please allow at least an hour extra travel and never try to enter Norfolk during the afternoon rush hour.
